This is a very interesting article on Ash Wednesday & Lent. Personally, I did not grow up participating in Lent. In fact, I had not even heard of this process of giving up something in your life for the 40 days between Ash Wednesday & Easter to represent what Christ gave up for us when he died on the cross until I was in college. I grew up going to church, but in the Methodist and Baptist church we did not exercise this challenge. I love the idea of giving up something for 40 days, but this year I have had a really hard time figuring out what to give up! I'm only a day behind...
